First Aid Kit - The Lion's Roar

After posting two heavy 80s style electronic songs, I'm going to switch things up a bit.

First Aid Kit are a rapidly growing Swedish folk duo. This song by them is appropriately named "The Lion's Roar", and it really seems to fit, given the strong bold singing of the swedish sisters backed by the strumming and occasional trumpeting.

The group has heavy influences from Joanna Newsom and Fleet Foxes (they were first discovered by posting a Fleet Foxes cover on youtube), but I feel also they have a lot of parallels with the UK artist Laura Marling (with more bravado).

This is an easily likeable song, and I feel strongly that this group will encounter a lot of success on the future, especially after their 2010 show in Nashville after being approached by Jack White. Listening to their lyrics and vocals, it's easy to forget that these girls are only 21 and 18 respectively.
